The Manitoba Mosaic Awards honour newcomers, immigrants, refugees and community champions whose leadership, compassion, and creativity help build a more inclusive and welcoming province.
Each award recognizes people and organizations who are making a meaningful impact–whether by sparking change, building bridges, supporting others, or creating opportunity.

Honoring Outstanding Newcomer, Immigrant, or Refugee Youth Leadership in Community Connection
The Youth Bridge Builder Award celebrates a newcomer, immigrant, or refugee youth (ages 14-29) who has shown exceptional leadership, empathy, and initiative in bringing people together across cultural, social, or generational lines.
This youth serves as a connector – helping build understanding, trust, and inclusion between diverse communities, and actively contributing to a more united and welcoming society.
2 recipients will be chosen, one urban and one rural.
Honours the work in bringing together Indigenous and newcomer communities through dialogue, collaboration, and community building, and mutual understanding.
Recognizes an Indigenous person who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in building meaningful relationships between Indigenous communities and newcomer, immigrant, or refugee communities, fostering understanding, respect, and shared belonging
2 recipients will be chosen, one urban and one rural.
Celebrating Outstanding Leadership in Creating Inclusive and Supportive Communities for Newcomers, Immigrants, and Refugees
The Welcoming Community Champion Award honors an individual, organization, or business that demonstrates an unwavering commitment to building a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment for newcomers, immigrants, and refugees.
This award recognizes those who play a pivotal role in fostering belonging, inclusion, and opportunity, helping newcomers thrive and feel at home in their new community.
6 recipients will be awarded a Welcoming Community Champion Award. 2 individuals, one urban and one rural. 2 organizations, one urban and one rural. 2 employers or business, one urban and rural.
Honouring the Lifelong Contributions of Elders in Strengthening Community and Belonging.
The Lifetime Community Builder Award recognizes a newcomer, immigrant, or refugee (age 60+) whose lifelong contributions have made a meaningful and lasting impact on their community. Through mentorship, cultural knowledge, and dedicated leadership, recipients have helped preserve traditions, bridge generations, and foster a strong sense of belonging. Their enduring commitment and service continue to inspire others and strengthen the social and cultural fabric of the community.2 recipients will be chosen, one urban and one rural.

All nominees must live in Manitoba and, for newcomer awards, typically have arrived in Canada within the past 10 years. Some awards are open to individuals, youth, businesses, and organizations.
