SWIS

SWIS Program

Does your family have kids in the Kindergarten to Grade 12 school system? Settlement Workers In Schools (SWIS) helps students and families get a strong start in schools and in the community.

SWIS staff work in schools, at Regional Connections, and in the community to support newcomer students and families.

SWIS can help your family with:

  • School registration, tours, and information
  • Help with school documents
  • Lunch hour, after school, and summer break programs
  • Cross-cultural activities
  • Community activities like Learn to Skate, Learn to Swim, and trips to parks, libraries, and museums

Referrals to other community and government resources
