SWIS

SWIS Program

Does your family have kids in the Kindergarten to Grade 12 school system? Settlement Workers In Schools (SWIS) works with local school divisions to help newcomer students and families get a strong start in schools and in the community.

SWIS staff work in schools, at Regional Connections, and in the community to support newcomer students and families.

SWIS can help your family with:

  • School registration, tours, and information
  • School forms and documents
  • Lunch hour, after school, and summer programs
  • Cross-cultural activities
  • Community activities like Learn to Skate, Learn to Swim, and trips to parks, libraries, and museums

SWIS also connects your family to community and government resources.
